A couple of months ago Mr. T and I made brinner (breakfast for dinner, get it?) and I've been meaning to talk about it since then. Honestly, it was one of my favorite meals we've ever made. I have no idea why. Maybe it's because it feels a little rebellious. Or maybe it's because it's one meal that we can cook without bickering. I always get all territorial in the kitchen and I have no idea why. We cook a lot together and he does a lot of things better than I do. But for some reason I always get all up in his space and try to tell him how to do things.
But anyway, it was my favorite meal. We just made eggs, bacon, and pancakes. And that man makes a mean piece of bacon (I always burn it).
And I realized that brinner is the best meal ever. Here's why:
1. You get to eat sugary things for dinner. It's almost like having dessert for dinner. And I am 34-years-old so things like that are awesome to me. 2. I don't feel guilty for not eating at the table. Truth be told we don't eat at the table as much as I want to and when we made brinner we legitimately planned to eat it at the table. But our laundry had kind of exploded all over the apartment and we couldn't. I didn't feel guilty though. So that's that. 3. You can try lots of new recipes and they're easy. We were going to try this awesome recipe from Food Network, but we didn't have all of the ingredients so we opted for plain ol' pancake mix instead. 4. It's cheap. So cheap. Eggs, a little pancake mix, some bacon. Done. 5. It's so quick and easy. We seriously had everything done in under 30 minutes with almost no prep. You can't beat that.
