So I know it's Wednesday and I am just now doing a weekend in photos, but technically my week is just starting because Mr. T and I took an extended weekend to take a little trip to a cabin in upstate New York. We planned it a few months ago since we knew we couldn't honeymoon until January. We figured we would want a little time away to relax and celebrate. And, seriously, we did both really well. I ate so much good food, took so many naps, and relaxed on the deck. It was amazing. The views were gorgeous. New York state is amazing in the fall. This was actually my first time and I can wait to go back. If you've never been, put it on your list. Even if you don't live in New York, put it on your list. The views of all the trees were breathtaking. I wish I could have taken pictures of it all, but nothing did it justice.
I only thought we would get murdered a handful of times. That's how you know you've been in the city for too long. It was so dark and quiet at night that it was hard to adjust and I think I maybe watch too many scary movies.
But really, the trip was amazing and I can't wait to go back. And, of course, here are a couple of tips/things I learned.
- You might think you'll be murdered (or is it get murdered?), but you probably won't.
- Thunderstorms in the middle of the forest are better than thunderstorms anywhere.
- Wegmans is the best store. I am actually a little jealous that we don't have one in Brooklyn. Can whoever's in charge of that stuff please get on that?
- Most importantly, no matter what you do, take a moment to just take it all in. Seriously, nature is pretty grand and it's pretty awesome.
And, here are some pics from the weekend. They are mostly of the cabin because, well, we didn't leave once after we got there.
