I am mildly obsessed with soft skin. So much that I lecture other people on the importance of lotion. Yeah, I'm totally that gal. One of the things that I love to do is use a scrub. It makes me feel good and pampered. And I love the way my skin feels after I use it. The only problem is a lot of scrubs I've found are super expensive or contain ingredients that still dry out my skin or are in soap (seriously, SOAP!!).
So I've resorted to making my own. And it's actually pretty easy with only a couple of ingredients you probably already have (and if not, they're super easy to find). Here's how to make your own sugar scrub for soft skin.
Homemade Sugar Scrub
What you'll need:
What you'll do:
- Put a handful of brown sugar into a small bowl.
- Start with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and mix it into the brown sugar. If it doesn't fully wet the sugar, continue to add more until it does. You want the sugar to be wet so it will smooth across your skin easily, but not dripping with oil because then the sugar will disappear into the liquid.
- I usually just take the bowl in the shower with me and spread it all over my skin after I wash. Paying the most attention to the parts that get really dry (elbows, ankles, knees). I used it on my feet too, but be careful because it things can get a little slippery with the oil.
- Then just rinse off.
It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth and you smell like a cookie.
