Guess what?! I am back. Officially in Indiana. Almost settled. And we have a puppy.
This past weekend was my second year dressing up for Halloween. It's a big thing for me because if you remember correctly, I hated dressing up and though most couples costumes were pretty dumb. This year Mr. T and I dressed up as each other and it was actually a pretty big hit. Though we did get a ton of confused looks on our subway ride to a friend's party. Nevertheless it was a good time. And the party was fun too. We have this friend who always does these amazing themes for her parties. It always goes with whatever costume she's chosen. It's beyond creative and I am actually almost a little jealous at how awesome she is at this stuff.
Happy Monday everyone!
Since Mr. T and I can't honeymoon until January, we took a long weekend to take a little trip to a cabin in upstate New York.
So far, being married is pretty awesome (and so is being a newlywed). I am trying to get back into the swing of things, but I am also trying to relax and enjoy all the fun of being a newlywed. It takes some time to learn how to balance it all and we all know I am anal. This past weekend was a good blend of so many great things: birthday fun, NYC, and fall. I was in Manhattan on Friday and was reminded of how much I love this amazing city. Then I took advantage of the cooler temps by making some yummy potato soup. We had a bit of an early birthday celebration for yours truly. My birthday is Thursday, Mr. T and I are going upstate this coming weekend for our "mini-moon" so we won't be in NYC. It was a low-key birthday -- just dinner and drinks with some of our friends. And it was a perfect way to celebrate the day. Lots of food and booze and cupcakes made from scratch by Mr. T. We shopped at the thrift store beforehand and then he made me a huge breakfast on Sunday.
I love NYC and Fall
Happy Monday everyone! Tell me about your weekend!
I am still working on getting back to things over here. I swear, every time I think I am back on track I realize there's something else I neglected to do. The posts will start coming in a more frequent (and steady) stream, I promise. Anyway, this weekend was nice. It was a good blend of fun and R&R and I managed to snap a few pics along the way. Here are my weekend in photos.
A rainy Saturday morning in Brooklyn.
Yes, I've started reading. I bought all of these Stephen King books at a used bookstore and I am determined to read them. So far this one is pretty good and the coffee was obviously a perfect touch.
A subway selfie (or I guess ussie) with Mr. T.
Because it's a good way to kill time (and better than watching the rats).
So good. I want to eat them everyday (but I won't).
Birthday presents from Mr. T.
Yeah, it's a tad early, but I am impatient and so is he. He gave me this awesome fountain pen and a wax seal kit. I am totally going to start sending fancy letters to everyone I know.
The cast from The Karate Kid.
You can't really see it, but that's Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, and Martin Kove. Mr. T and I went to a little viewing and there was a talk beforehand. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty awesome.
Mr. T and I decided to make a huge breakfast on Sunday. We used our new griddle and new coffee mugs. I love having breakfast with him and feel lucky that I get to do it almost every morning.
My weekend in photos is back! And this time I'm going to shake it up a little bit. I was tired of using the same intro over and over again (and I'm pretty sure everyone was tired of reading it). I'm also redoing the format a little as well. So here we go. This past weekend was filled with some much-needed R&R for Mr. T and me. The wedding was fantastic, but also exhausting. And I don't know the last time we were able to just relax on the couch. It's also football season and if you've been around this blog for a while you know that I love me some college football.
So here you go, my weekend in photos.
Brunch and a walk with Mr. T.
Yes, that is totally a breakfast tostada and it's probably one of my most favorite things to eat for breakfast. And that's also me sporting some awesome fall gear. Can we all be excited about fall? The headband that you see is made by my sister who is going to start selling them soon. I'll keep you posted so you can snag one of your own.
I am not ashamed to admit that Mr. T and I watched 12 hours of football on Saturday. And, even though I was a little overwhelmed today that I did nothing over the weekend, it was such an amazing day. We ate snacks. He upheld his vows by wearing a little green and white (headband also made by my sister). That lovely apple concoction up there is apple pie moonshine with a little apple cider and brandy. It was heaven in a cup.
A little home decor.
One of the best things about doing so many things for your wedding is the fact that you have stuff leftover. The letters have tons of blue and purple bottle caps glued to them. The booze is also leftover from the wedding. The picture wall was already in existence, but we added 20 or so wedding pictures to it. Plus the states pictures and the gift that Mr. T gave me for our wedding. And that cute little owl was purchased while shopping for the wedding (he didn't actually come to the wedding though).
Football. Wedding stuff. Meal prepping. The Mets. My weekend in photos.
Sometimes I dine out or visit some crappy dive bar. Sometimes I grocery shop and clip coupons. Sometimes I sit on the couch with Mr. T and watch really stupid movies or the court shows(don’t judge). Sometimes I drink vodka cokes out of a plastic cup. And I’ve yet to randomly run into a celebrity (except that one time I sorta hung out with Perez Hilton and Patti Stanger). So I’ve decided to document it all and share my weekend happenings. Exactly how they happen. No matter what happens. No matter how interesting or how boring. This is my life. This is my weekend in photos. Mr. T and I started out this weekend with big plans, but we ended up just bumming around Brooklyn and it was pretty awesome. We had breakfast, bought some bread and yummy produce, drank some beer, and watched some horror movies. We also did some wedding stuff (including spending far too long working on our wedding playlist. I had no idea that would take so long).

This is my weekend in photos. This weekend I had a much needed date night with Mr. T. With out month in the midwest and then his crazy teaching schedule it felt like ages since we actually had a night out. We ate the "best" wings in Brooklyn and then had drinks at a couple of bars where our friend was bartending (we hadn't seen him in forever).
Beer. Bacon. Sausages. Beer. Bacon. My weekend in photos.
