Wedding Tip: Shop Etsy for Inspiration and DIY Touches
I constantly go back and forth between what tips I should share about the wedding and what I shouldn't. I'm working on (what I believe is) some pretty awesome stuff. But, wedding guests also read this blog so I don't necessarily want to give the whole wedding away.
So, while I work on figuring out a balance (it's likely that some stuff will be shared now and other stuff with be shared after), I wanted to share the best thing that I've found for the wedding.
What's that thing? Etsy.
Now, I know, I know. This isn't exactly a new thing. I mean, most people have heard of Etsy. And a great portion of people have probably looked at the website and bought stuff.
But, seriously, it's a bride-to-be's dream. They have everything on there. And I do mean everything. The best part is that the stuff is mostly homemade. So not only does it fit with our theme and with all of the DIY things that we are adding to the wedding, but that means you can find some different stuff. I know, I know. Again. I said not to worry about having a wedding unlike everyone else's. I still firmly stand by that and that's not what I mean at all.
What I mean is that the things that you get aren't made from some factory mold. I mean, some things are, but not everything is. So it kind of just adds to all the love that you're putting into your wedding. It helps you have a wedding that looks and feels like who you are as a couple.
You can also find things that you can't find other places. Or things that you have found other places, but they are beyond expensive. Most things on the site are pretty reasonably priced. You can also special order many things so that means you can kind of design things the way you want them.
I've found so many things. Things that I didn't even think I would find on there. I actually have Pinterest to thank for that as well. I've also found it's inspired some of my DIY wedding projects.
So far here's what we've purchased from the site. (I linked to some of the shops and promise I will show more after the big day. Regardless, a quick search for any of these items will produce a ton of fantastic shops.)
- Battery powered lights/other lights for the ceremony
- Address/return address labels
- Hole punchers
- Candy molds
- My garter
- My hair piece and veil
- My jewelry/bridesmaid jewelry
- Our cake toppers
- Various items for the ceremony
- Stamps with our initials
- Tags and various items for the favors
- Our wedding bands (which is probably my most favorite part. We found the most beautiful rings that were very reasonably priced. And made especially for us.)
- Pocket squares for the fellas (we actually know the guy, and he has a shop on the site)
- Wedding Signs
And I'm not even done yet. To say I'm obsessed would be an understatement.
So, if you're looking for something and can't find it or just want to be fun and creative or whatever, I definitely recommend checking out Etsy. In fact, I recommend checking it out before you buy almost anything.
And, no, this isn't a sponsored post. I just honestly believe you can find a lot of great stuff there.
