12 Days of Christmas DIY - Christmas Tree Decorations

On the third day of Christmas, I'm bringing you ideas for some awesome and fun lil' DIY Christmas tree decorations. I love me some handmade ornaments. Growing up, we always had all of these fun homemade ornaments and I loved getting them out year after year. And, as an adult, I always thought it would be fun to add other homemade items to the tree. Here are some fun ideas to help deck your halls.

PS. Check out last year's ornament ideas too!

I actually have some cute little wood slices that I bought from Darby Smart last year and I believe you can still get them from their website.

Gold leaf pine cone garland

I became obsessed with gold leaf after I made the desk accessories for Mr. T. It really is such a cool thing. And I love the idea of taking cozy nature things and holidaying them up.

Aren't these so cute? And they look so easy. I also think it would be fun to use different colors of felt too.

spray paint christmas lights

Spray paint your Christmas lights

I like the idea of spray painting for a purpose -- i.e. taking white lights and making them green. But I also think you could take this so much farther and make the lights part of the décor. Paint them gold or silver or red. So pretty.
